Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan Obtained his bachelor degree in Textile Technology from the University of Dhaka. Completed M.Sc and Ph.D degree in Textile Technology from the University of Manchester, U.K. under Commonwealth Scholarship. Prof. Khan is the 1st Pro Vice Chancellor now Acting Vice Chancellor of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), Bangladesh. He overseas the University & academic administration and collaboration research projects. He has 38 years long service experience in teaching, research and industry. As 1st Principal he resurrected Bangladesh’s first Public Private Partnership educational institute named National Institute of Textile Engineering & Research (NITER) an affiliated Institute of University of Dhaka into a full-fledged education institute from a state of closing down.
He works as external examiner of Masters & Ph.D students of universities of home and abroad. So far 32 Masters and Ph.D students completed their degree under his supervision. He has 72 no of Publications in recognized National & International journals of repute. His research interests are Yarn Manufacturing, Circular & Technical Textiles. He was associated as National Expert & Expert member of Textile, RMG Research, Human Research development different projects of EU/UNIDO, D-8, ADB, World Bank, The Netherlands, Germany, U.K. Prof. Khan is life member of different professional & educational bodies of Bangladesh and abroad. He is a Fellow of Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB). He was President of Bangladesh Students’ Society, University of Manchester, UK. He is Ambassador, Asia Region of Association of Commonwealth Universities for 3 consicutive terms from 2023. He is the member of Executive Committee of Bangladesh Association of Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows (BACSAF).
He is awarded ‘Fellowship’. The Textile Institute (TI), U.K. Prof. Khan is the 1st Bangladeshi receipant of TI, U.K. Holden Medal award for Education-2018. He was awarded Excellence Teaching in Higher Education from DKIRF, India, Honourary Doctorate of Higher Education from United Nobles Rescue Services, Sweden. Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan is the Chairman, The Textile Institute, Manchester, U.K. Bangladesh Section. He is also the Chairman, Bangladesh Chapter of Society of Dyers and Colourists, UK.
