Prof. Yingchun Zang

Prof. Zang Yingchun is Professor of Fashion and Textile Design at Tsinghua University. She serves as the Acting Dean of the Tsinghua Arts & Design Institute in Milan and Head of the Department of Fashion and Textile Design. She is currently Deputy Director of the China–Italy Design Innovation Hub, Vice Chairperson of the China Fashion Designers Association, and Executive Deputy Director of the Tsinghua–UNICEF Global Innovation Center. Her research focuses on sustainable fashion design, fashion culture, smart textiles, and aging design, with significant academic and industry impact. She leads the Sustainable Fashion Design Innovation Institute in collaboration with the Kering Group, and launched the global Sustainable Fashion MOOC (2024), which has attracted over 30,000 participants.
Prof. Zang has authored 10 books and numerous papers on fashion theory and culture, including Chinese Fashion in the 21st Century (Springer). She has organized major international academic forums such as the International Sustainable Fashion Design Series Forum (2019–2024), and her works have been exhibited and collected worldwide. She is a recipient of multiple national and international honors, including the National Teaching Achievement Award (2023) and the Beijing Higher Education Teaching Achievement Special Prize (2022).
